琉球大学、京都大学、沖縄科学技術大学院大学、及び国立環境研究所は、ヒアリの防除・根絶・将来の侵入への対策に向け、共同研究プロジェクトを立ち上げます。本プロジェクトのゴールは、早期発見、効果的な防除、監視体制の構築の３つを実現しようと考えています。

アカデミックデイを経ての感想
This is the first time ever for my research group to participate the Academic Day. For me as a faculty member, it’s always important to promote our research work in a way that is friendly to the general public. Through this event, I feel that the true value of our research and effort we have dedicated can be seen and appreciated. For my students, being part of this event as staff would allow them to learn how to communicate with the general public and how crucial such interaction skill is in their academic career. Overall speaking, our group has received a vast amount of feedback, and such unforgettable and mutually beneficial experience has motivated us to participate the Academic Day as our routine laboratory outreach activity.
