Dynamics on Synchronization Network of Complex Economic Big Data and Forecasting World Economic Crisis

Project Gist

Scientific approach to economics based on real big data

Keywords

Network, Trade relationship between firms, Complex Hilbert principal component analysis

Background and Purpose

It is of upmost importance to use the real big data for scientific approach to Economy. This research project uses huge (~one million firms) trading relationship data of Japan, micro price time series, etc. to reveal dynamics of Japanese economy, including the crucial problem of long-lasting deflation in Japan.

Project Achievements

This research framework enabled us to start several new collaborations. As a result, we achieved new findings on power-law behavior of the communities of trade network, clustering behavior of the micro-prices, and others. Several new research project with U.S. and Germany are in progress currently.

Future Prospects

This research brought us the basic understanding of the structure of the trade network. Using this knowledge, we will start construction simulation model(s) to clarify the economic dynamics of Japan, incorporating the knowledge we obtained in research on micro prices.
