Fabrication of Inorganic Materials for Radiation Measurement
Project Gist
Seek a key component for novel radiation detection materials!
Keywords
inorganic materials, radiation physics, optical materials
Background, Purpose, and Project Achievements
Nowadays, radiation detection materials with high sensitivity have been desired in various fields. If practical detecting materials composed of ubiquitous elements can be prepared, and if they possess good formability, it is more desirable from industrial viewpoint. On the other hand, the mechanism of energy conversion has not yet completely clarified. Therefore, systematic research from a multidirectional viewpoint is needed for high sensitivity in the future. In this project, specialists of various field, such as materials science, radiation physics, optical physics, gathered and studied to obtain a design principle for novel detecting materials.
Future Prospects
Collaborative studies provided by this project are proceeding. We accelerate the collaboration in order to fabricate novel detecting materials in the near future.
