Background, Purpose, and Project Achievements
Myanmar is now under the rapid economical development. At the same time, therefore, the increase of the risk with various environmental pollutants is concerned. On the other hand, higher education state of Myanmar became almost collapsed in the democratization oppression that lasted nearly 20 years, and the training of researcher who can watch environmental risk from latitudinous position became late. This project aimed for finding today’s situation of the environmental risk in Myanmar and the training of young researchers, and finally achieved the grasp of heavy metal pollution of living environment in Yangon, for example.
Future Prospects
Using the human network built in this project, we will establish the monitoring system of various environmental pollutants, and contribute to training of the young researchers who will work for preventing the increase of environmental risk in Myanmar and protecting their home countries from environmental pollution.
