Project Gist

Analyzing Plants in Complex Environments

Keywords

Plants, Reciprocal transplant experiments, Complex environments

Background, Purpose, and Project Achievements

Analyzing plants in natural complex environments became critical for understanding and predicting plant responses against global environmental changes. We required establishments of standardized research sites in which recent molecular techniques are applicable. In this project, Center for Ecological Research, Kyoto University set up an international transplantation site by collaborating with University of Zurich, University of Bristol and University of Tsukuba.

Future Prospects

We further enhance international collaboration and will develop Center for Ecological Research, Kyoto University into an international hub of plant study in natural environments.
