Background and Purpose

The 5th Generation Mobile communications systems so-called 5G system is not just a mobile communication system to be standardized in 2020 but a universal access method for IoT(Internet of Things) and IoE(Internet of Everything) that would be a key for the next ICT revolution that could be comparable to Industry 4.0 by Germany. The purpose of this project is to develop core access system based on Kyoto University’s advanced mathematics and physics to deploy it 5G via its standardization. For such purpose, international activity of our University is vitally important so our project mission is to do internationalization of our University and our 5G technology at once.

Project Achievements

Invention of truly innovative multiple access method which can realize simultaneous communications with 1,000〜10,000 sensors within a limited frequency band was done. Thus, we already filed 5 patents on the above technology.

Future Prospects

Try to 5G Standardization and Implementation of our developed technology.

・Ken Umeno is Professor at Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, Japan. From 1998 until he joined Kyoto University as Professor in 2012, he worked for Japan’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in its Communications Research Laboratory (currently National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan). From 2004 to 2012, he was CEO and President of ChaosWare, Inc. He received the LSI IP Award in 2003 and the Telecom-System Awards in 2003 and 2008 for his inventions on chaotic communications technology. He has dedicated to chaotic nature to make superefficient ICT and computing technology for more than 25 years.
