Initiative on International MR Imaging Hub — Center for Ultra-High-Field MRI and New Generation MRI —

Project Gist

MRI next generation, for better medical care in the world

Keywords

MRI, High-Temperature-Superconducting, gradient coil, helium-free

Background, Purpose, and Project Achievements

MRI, a non-radiation and non-invasive scanner for cross-sectional images, is now very important not only in medicine but in research because it can provides various kinds of information with combination of wide variety of imaging techniques. The purpose of this project is, based on our technological capabilities and international networks, to construct an international MR imaging hub for developments and applications with ultra-high-field MRI and next generation MRI. And we succeeded in acquisition of a research fund for MRI development and construction of new international research networks.

Future Prospects

We will apply grants to A-MED or another foundations and start an international MR imaging hub. In addition, for practical applications on our high-temperature superconducting MRI system, we will start a venture.
